Embedding guide

Use the countdown creator to choose an event date, time, time zone, language and appearance. It generates a shareable countdown page and a website embed code. The preview updates as you change settings.

URL parameters

name — optional event name, up to 80 characters. It appears in the widget and link preview.

date — event date, formatted YYYY-MM-DD.

time — event time, formatted HH:MM or HH:MM:SS (24-hour clock).

zone — event time zone, for example Europe/Paris. Daylight saving time is applied automatically.

tz — alternative fixed UTC offset, for example +02:00. The creator encodes the plus sign as %2B. Use either zone or tz.

lang — en, fr, es, de, it or th.

theme — classic, wedding or celebration.

Choose the time zone where the event takes place. The creator defaults to your browser's time zone, which you should change if the event is elsewhere. A fixed UTC offset also works, but you must choose the offset that applies on the event date. Older links without zone or tz still use each visitor's local time.

Appearance and behavior

Choose one or more units (days, hours, minutes, seconds), whether to show the name and unit labels, a font and a vertical or horizontal layout.

Choose a style, one of the original gradient or illustrated backgrounds, a solid color or a transparent background. You can set the event name, digits, last unit and border colors separately.

Set the iframe width as a percentage or pixels, its height in pixels, horizontal padding and border width. The generated embed code includes the selected dimensions.

At zero, the widget can stop, count upward or repeat every chosen number of days, weeks, months or years. An optional HTTP or HTTPS event link appears below the timer.

Advanced URL options

units is a comma-separated list. showName, showLabels and transparent use 1 or 0.

font accepts sans, serif, mono or rounded; layout accepts vertical or horizontal. preset selects a built-in background, including illustrated stars, love and party.

Colors use six-digit hexadecimal values in bgColor, nameColor, digitsColor, accentColor and borderColor. Sizing uses widthMode (percent or pixels), width, height, padding and borderWidth.

finish accepts stop, countup or repeat. With repeat, use repeat=daily, weekly, monthly or yearly and optionally repeatEvery from 1 to 365. link is an optional HTTP or HTTPS URL.

Shareable URL

Website embed

Copy the code produced by the creator into a site that accepts HTML iframes. A width of 100% and height of 220 pixels works well for most layouts. The countdown itself adapts to narrower frames.

<iframe src="https://countdown.adrienchambord.com/embed/?name=Summer+Celebration&date=2027-08-24&time=19%3A00&tz=%2B02%3A00&lang=en&theme=classic" width="100%" height="220" style="border:0" title="Live Countdown"></iframe>

Rich media discovery

Each /countdown/ page advertises its /embed/ URL through an Iframely link in the HTML and the HTTP Link header. Rich embedding on third-party platforms is subject to their support and Iframely's review; the manual iframe code works on sites that permit iframes.

How it works

The countdown updates in the visitor's browser every second and stops at zero. The configuration lives in the URL; no account or saved countdown record is needed. For help, contact achambord@gmail.com.
